TotalTrack, a comprehensive database system that puts all apprentice and journeymen training information in one place in an easy-to-use interface, was developed solely by the ITI. The system puts ITI on the forefront of technology in the unionized building trades and allows instructors, coordinators and students the ability to not only access their information, but communicate on a different level.
TotalTrack is Internet based, allowing easier integration due to lack of installations and/or system upgrades and has 24/7 secure access and offsite backup and archiving. The same system allows for efficiency nationwide and better communication between centers and with the ITI.
Training Centers can grant users such as students, instructors, or contractors access to relevant data. Online apprenticeship applications can be customized to each JATC’s website and easily transferred into Track Tool. The database includes an easy to use interface for building custom reports that can be output to Excel, HTML or PDF files.
The system interface is user-friendly and streamlined for each particular user group. Instructors and students can use Track Tool to build calendars for class dates, curricula, assignments, and an internal task and messaging system. From TotalTrack, each training center can copy a specific curriculum and modify it to suit the specific needs of its teachers and students. Apprentices’ classes, grades, attendance and OTJ hours can be tracked, so as to follow the career path of each apprentice. The newly available e-texts are available through TotalTrack and instructors can assign specific curricula for each apprentice based on their course of work.
Along with the ability to order ITI calculators and completion certificates, JATCs can produce SLA agreements, class completion certificates, class attendance and grade sheets, apprentice transcripts, advancement and turn out letters, hiring lists and evaluations.
Beyond apprentice tracking, training centers can also organize apprentice and journeymen employment records including advancement and wage levels, certifications, and licenses. Data can also be collected and organized about the JATC, its instructors, staff and other contacts, along with information on local contractors.
